Just for Today

In sobriety, we often talk about getting through difficulty by remembering that we only need to stay sober today. That concept often leads to saying, “one day at a time, maybe only one moment at a time.”

Recovery slogans are a dime a dozen, yet every one of them has had more than ten cents’ value for me at one time or another.

“Just for today” and “one day at a time” are perfect examples of the mindfulness approach that recovery encourages.

With that said, it is my intention to share my story and experience in early recovery, as often as I can here. This blog is meant to remind me to think, notice, and appreciate the present.

Life is, after all, a gift. One that I am ever-increasingly grateful to experience!

With loving thoughts,
